I would say that most delegates run because they get a day off and drinks galore after the meeting. There are only a few that seem to care and don't have a hidden agenda. If any delegates that were sticking up for the past leadership try to run again make sure people remind themselves of that and vote for the new guy.

I am going to assume everyone has received "the" email from President Jimmy Panus. It would be obvious to the reader that Jim is, to say the least, FRUSTRATED. With that aside, it also reveals a man who is extremely upset that the misconduct perpetrated by himself and former/present PBA leaders has been told to the media. The lashing out by President Panus was a complete surprise. His tone within the email is not of one that has his members best interest in mind, but rather of one that is furious that others have blocked his way by sending his misdeeds down the information highway. All President Panus has done by writing this email, is to give the media his comments on their reporting. They will without any doubt receive a copy of his email shortly. What we are witnessing, is a man who is falling apart, probably a man who is nervous that even more information about his misdeeds is coming out.
This probe is starting to take shape. The person responsible for keeping the money, our beloved treasurer is the person that will take the majority of the heat here. As the probe widens, it will naturally reveal most of the recipients of the "money." Mistel may end up painting the complete picture for investigators once he is faced with a long jail stay. That usually breaks even the most dishonest people. The continuing probe should reveal those within our union who received monies or benefits without lawful approval. Those individuals will start to panic, some will give evidence just to stay free of jail. The amount taken by these individuals is not so important as the way they received it, that is where the crime is committed. Mistel is to old to take a long jail sentence, he will sing to save his sorry old ass.
So what your saying is, that the one that runs to the authorities faster, will get a better deal if they SNITCH on the others, is that what you are saying?

The reporters who wrote it were doing their job. Funny thing is, the First Amendment right to do so is something we all took an oath to protect.
All of us know what informants are. Even well-scrubbed snitches can have many motivations. Usually, it is to save their own asses after the good guys have a hook in them. Sometimes they have other motivations—like putting competing hoods out of business, one politician trying to hurt another, or on a personal level because of spite, revenge or jealousy. You get the idea…
The credit card review leaked to the Buffalo News involved internal issues we addressed over a year ago. The single credit card the PBA used for years was also discontinued 12/31/2011. Of course, the leakers never mentioned this.
It is time to look at the real motivation of the dime-droppers who leaked our internal documents to the press within hours of when it was given to our own members. To start, these informers didn’t leak anything which was secret. I gave the results of the accountants’ ‘look-back’ to our delegates and membership the same day I received it. Our PBA knew about the review. So did the entire Board of Directors. No one tried to hide anything, once the review was available. Any member who wants to review it is free to do so. The American Express credit card history from Bob Meegan was delivered to the CPA the same day I received it. I don’t need to repeat the directions I gave the accountants to review this. Despite this, some of the PBA officials who have been bitching the loudest still complained—even though I sent these records to the CPA firm they picked.
A good question now is what is the motivation of the PBA officials, or their lackeys, who leaked this stuff on the very day we received it? Was their purpose to help, or hurt, our union? Was it done to help, or hurt us, in the public’s eye? Or, was it leaked to satisfy a personal grudge? Whatever their reason, it did all of us no good and only ended up hurting our union.
Right now, our many enemies are smiling ear-to-ear and rubbing their hands in delight after what they saw in the paper. The dime-droppers got an extra bang for their buck against the PBA by leaking things which had been fixed well over a year ago. Whatever their personal agenda we should all ask: Could you trust these leakers as your partner, as a friend, or your first in back-up if your life depended on it?
The total credit card expenditures came out to about 10 cents per day per member. When unquestionable expenses are subtracted the amount per member is pennies. The loose procedures where only one union credit card paid for everything from computers to airplane tickets no longer exist.
No organization as large as our PBA will ever get everyone to agree on everything all of the time. That is especially true with us cops. But because we are (or should be) part of a loyal, tight-knit group who has to depend on one another we should be able to resolve our problems among ourselves. We should be able to do this respectfully and in the process not damage our own PBA by acting like spineless politicians or some snitch in the middle of the night trying to save their ass.
The sniveling members who leaked this stuff to the press have had the day they have been waiting for. Maybe now they can give their personal agendas a break—before they do any more damage to our union and the rest of us.
We owe it to each other and our families to stand together with respect knowing we can solve our problems ourselves… without the faceless, cowardly dime-dropping we all just witnessed on the front page.

Three people were shot inside the New Humboldt Inn, in the 400 block of Humboldt Parkway overnight.
Buffalo Police say the suspected shooter, or shooters, entered the bar and began firing around 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Two injured people were taken to ECMC in private vehicles. One other person was transported to ECMC by ambulance.
Police say two shooting victims were treated and released from ECMC. Information from a reliable source at the snooze is that the audit was given to them by our current President. In exchange for this info the snooze said they would not publish the fact that our current President and Treasurer took part in the vacations, dinners and various other "perks". I would say that most delegates run because they get a day off and drinks galore after the meeting. There are only a few that seem to care and don't have a hidden agenda. If any delegates that were sticking up for the past leadership try to run again make sure people remind themselves of that and vote for the new guy.

One person murdered (stabbed) on Tonawanda st, two people shot on Minnesota st. Very small non informational news blips about these incidents last night. The Brown administration through its policies not to allow Police Officers to talk to the media has numbed the public from these crimes. Would someone please sue the City of Buffalo for this policy. No current news is allowed to be released to the media and thus is swept under the carpet. A law suit would allow Police Officers to give on the scene reports to media about the carnage that occurs in these neighborhoods. This would alert citizens and visitors to the dangers of this city. Of course, when the citizens become aware of just how dangerous the City of Buffalo is, they will elect another Mayor who will be honest with them and who will have the answers to the crime problem. This Mayor, by his silent policies and by his lack of success in curbing violent crime has to go.

I am going to assume everyone has received "the" email from President Jimmy Panus. It would be obvious to the reader that Jim is, to say the least, FRUSTRATED. With that aside, it also reveals a man who is extremely upset that the misconduct perpetrated by himself and former/present PBA leaders has been told to the media. The lashing out by President Panus was a complete surprise. His tone within the email is not of one that has his members best interest in mind, but rather of one that is furious that others have blocked his way by sending his misdeeds down the information highway. All President Panus has done by writing this email, is to give the media his comments on their reporting. They will without any doubt receive a copy of his email shortly. What we are witnessing, is a man who is falling apart, probably a man who is nervous that even more information about his misdeeds is coming out.
This probe is starting to take shape. The person responsible for keeping the money, our beloved treasurer is the person that will take the majority of the heat here. As the probe widens, it will naturally reveal most of the recipients of the "money." Mistel may end up painting the complete picture for investigators once he is faced with a long jail stay. That usually breaks even the most dishonest people. The continuing probe should reveal those within our union who received monies or benefits without lawful approval. Those individuals will start to panic, some will give evidence just to stay free of jail. The amount taken by these individuals is not so important as the way they received it, that is where the crime is committed. Mistel is to old to take a long jail sentence, he will sing to save his sorry old ass.

Email sent to PBA members by the President Panis
By now, I’m sure everyone has read the article which was based on PBA documents leaked by one of our members to the News.
The reporters who wrote it were doing their job. Funny thing is, the First Amendment right to do so is something we all took an oath to protect.
All of us know what informants are. Even well-scrubbed snitches can have many motivations. Usually, it is to save their own asses after the good guys have a hook in them. Sometimes they have other motivations—like putting competing hoods out of business, one politician trying to hurt another, or on a personal level because of spite, revenge or jealousy. You get the idea…
The credit card review leaked to the Buffalo News involved internal issues we addressed over a year ago. The single credit card the PBA used for years was also discontinued 12/31/2011. Of course, the leakers never mentioned this.
It is time to look at the real motivation of the dime-droppers who leaked our internal documents to the press within hours of when it was given to our own members. To start, these informers didn’t leak anything which was secret. I gave the results of the accountants’ ‘look-back’ to our delegates and membership the same day I received it. Our PBA knew about the review. So did the entire Board of Directors. No one tried to hide anything, once the review was available. Any member who wants to review it is free to do so. The American Express credit card history from Bob Meegan was delivered to the CPA the same day I received it. I don’t need to repeat the directions I gave the accountants to review this. Despite this, some of the PBA officials who have been bitching the loudest still complained—even though I sent these records to the CPA firm they picked.

A good question now is what is the motivation of the PBA officials, or their lackeys, who leaked this stuff on the very day we received it? Was their purpose to help, or hurt, our union? Was it done to help, or hurt us, in the public’s eye? Or, was it leaked to satisfy a personal grudge? Whatever their reason, it did all of us no good and only ended up hurting our union.
Right now, our many enemies are smiling ear-to-ear and rubbing their hands in delight after what they saw in the paper. The dime-droppers got an extra bang for their buck against the PBA by leaking things which had been fixed well over a year ago. Whatever their personal agenda we should all ask: Could you trust these leakers as your partner, as a friend, or your first in back-up if your life depended on it?
The total credit card expenditures came out to about 10 cents per day per member. When unquestionable expenses are subtracted the amount per member is pennies. The loose procedures where only one union credit card paid for everything from computers to airplane tickets no longer exist.
No organization as large as our PBA will ever get everyone to agree on everything all of the time. That is especially true with us cops. But because we are (or should be) part of a loyal, tight-knit group who has to depend on one another we should be able to resolve our problems among ourselves. We should be able to do this respectfully and in the process not damage our own PBA by acting like spineless politicians or some snitch in the middle of the night trying to save their ass.

Three people were shot inside the New Humboldt Inn, in the 400 block of Humboldt Parkway overnight.
Buffalo Police say the suspected shooter, or shooters, entered the bar and began firing around 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Two injured people were taken to ECMC in private vehicles. One other person was transported to ECMC by ambulance.
Police say two shooting victims were treated and released from ECMC. The third victim, a 37-year-old male, is still being treated at ECMC.
