Your REPUBLICAN buddies not only wanted to make you pay more every paycheck toward Social Security, but they also demanded that income taxes be raised on middle income people but lowered on corporations and the rich. In order to stop that the DEMOCRATS and Obama had to give them sonething in a compromize. Hence, the return of the original percentage rate for Social Security paycheck deductions, we now won't be getting taxed at a higher rate as the Republicans originally demanded.

A judge on Friday named a special prosecutor to handle a misdemeanor assault case as a dispute deepened between her and Erie County’s top prosecutor over a specialized domestic violence court.
State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges appointed former prosecutor Louis A. Haremski to prosecute the case in her Integrated Domestic Violence Court.
Before Haremski’s appointment, District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III notified Haendiges’ court that he intended to seek an indictment from a grand jury against Michael Izzard, who is accused of breaking a woman’s jaw.
If the grand jury delivered an indictment, Sedita said he would prosecute the defendant in Haendiges’ court or any other court to which the case was assigned.

1.) Prosecutorial incompetence
2.) DA's failure to prepare for pretrial.

More to the point however is that I find it preferrable to have a DA with a strong moral conscience about prosecuting an innocent person over a more ambitious one who looks at these prosecutions as notches on his/her gunbelt irrespective of the actual guilt or innocence of the defendent - I'll leave it to you to determine which one does more harm than good.
Frank Sedita is not only a good DA he's a very decent human being. I hope we haven't gotten to the point where that is something that's detrimental to his career.

High powered rifles should be banned and taken out of our society. In other words you should have to surrender it if you have one. Gun manufacturers should be banned from making them and/or importing them to the US, and sales of these guns should be illegal.
Any Felon or mentally incapable person should not be allowed to possess any firearm. Those individuals who are willing live with Felons and such also should not be allowed to possess any firearm.
Any other citizen of the age of 21 yrs old should be allowed to possess a low powered handgun with limited rounds. 6 rounds at most. The sale of rounds should be through the government only and there should be a low limit per person per year. Spent shells should have to be surrendered in order to get new ones.
This type of gun control would level the playing field for all, while at the same time removing these military death machines from our society.

Under what authority can personal property be seized without a warrant, or evidence of a crime? Family Court does the same with OOP's, but it usually involves handguns.
The guns are given back only after the case is "cleared" by a Family Court Judge, which could be over a year. If you read the fine print on the safekeeping form, it conveniently says that the weapons will be disposed of after ONE year.

Because it was announced at the last meeting that they could not go any further because of a lack of material to look at. You remember, the books & receipts MISZTAL said he "misplaced" . I think we found out today some people aren't afraid to talk up, but it seems that some people are VERY afraid of the consequences. When Miztal was scolding lil OD for mentioning criminal charges he showed how frightened he is. The only one that screwed you was your union delegates. Those delegates have allowed the misinformation of thinking FTO's can have one hour OT at the end of each shift to fill out the PPO's performance evaluation form. That was clearly misinformation that was purported by the delegates. Within the first week of operation, the new and old FTO's found out they simply get what the city and the union agreed to, Detective Sgts pay for those hours of Field Training. Nothing more and nothing less was promised. This is a case of Union Big mouths pushing their luck, and the average union member getting screwed again. I will say it again, be careful who you elect as a union delegate, it has everything to do with your atmosphere at work. If you elect someone who misinforms you constantly, then you will end up like the current bunch of FTO's, misinformed and disgruntled. Groom your delegate candidates and them vote the bad ones out.

I hear ZIPP wrote a proposal to start a trusteeship over OUR PBA finances. I don't know anything about him & even less about a trusteeship, but any oversight on OUR money is a great thing, probably why it wont pass. Between ZIPP, WHITE, & Clusella (C-Dist guys), they are walkin the walk, LAP DOGS just dont like the talk they are talking. & NOBODY can prove any of their info wrong.
Panus threw MEEGAN under the bus saying: he called all the shots & nobody dare question him. We never saw the credit cards (MISZTAL did) because they were both in MEEGANS name. & MISZTAL just gave MEEGAN a check & paid them off.
MISZTAL threw Gruvera under the bus saying: If its messed up blame the audit committee, they should have caught it. He did say: Gruvera did ask about the checks he just never questioned about what they were for.
