The government is on the right track. It will take life times to rid the society of these killing tools, but they are on track. Disarming the nuts, and just generally making it hard for a common citizen to get guns and ammo is the right thing to do. While this is being done, shore up the laws and rules for Police so that they can be a key to the nations safety.

I have a very nice neighbor. He is normal in every way, but he has a semi-auto rifle that he is so proud of. He has shown me the rounds for his gun and has bragged how they will take out intruders instantly, go threw car doors and walls etc etc. My concern is that this normal man may fire that gun accidentally or in error and a round will enter my home where my family is innocently living. I told my normal neighbor of my concerns, and he went ballistic. He no longer talks me or my family, but makes loud stupid comments in our presences when he sees us. This man is a threat to everyone around him, his guns should be taken from him, and if he resists that action, he should be jailed or killed. All that so that his neighbors can live without worry of this nut going off.

Anonymous said...

You feel threatened by you neighbors right to bear arms, so you want him killed? WTF?

Bauerle is going off on a rant of how he will kill any agent that comes to his home to take his guns. He is claiming it is his duty to do that, knowing that he will be killed. Hey Erie County, would you please go to that radio station and releive him of his gun permit and guns. Please please please, he is going to kill a police officer if we dont do the right thing here.

Ellicott Police have charged a Jamestown Police Officer with obstructing justice after the officer held himself hostage while threatening to kill himself. Am I crazy, or did Ellicott Police do the wrong thing here? This officer obviously needs mental help. But now, because they have arrested the officer, the officers photo is on every media page in WNY. This was handled wrong.

Can anyone tell us here, when one applies for a pistol permit, does that individual swear and sign as part of their PRIVILEDGE to carry a handgun to obey the laws of the state and government?

Handled way wrong! Shame on you the degenerate media..If this guy hurts himself it's blood on your hands and his administration..Our fucking retarded group would do the same thing..

"The law is not being wished away. Turn on your television and watch the gun laws being changed legislatively. Between the new federal laws and new state laws, guns are being diminished from the grips of Americans. As for a libtard response, I think it was more a hard line response telling citizens to back while the authorities do their jobs. Nothing liberal about that, especially when citizens are walking into schools shooting kindergarteners with military type weapons."

A few points, One I apologize for the Libtard. I did what I complained about, using words to diminish the argument. I'll accept "hard line response" and I don't want anyone stepping up when I'm handling it either, I want them to step back too. But that's not the problem, you and I can only get there as fast as we can and that's almost always to late for at least some of the victims.. But when you point out 'legislative action, state and federal you miss my point. State and federal cannot legislate the
2nd Admendment. It's the law and anything they pass to change, impinge, infringe or whatever word you want to use is illegal. It's against the Constitution. It can only be changed by a Constitutional Convention. If the legislators want to call one and try to change it I won't be happy but that's the process. But they cannot legislate what they have no Constitutional powere to do. That makes it illegal and not something to follow or arrest for. Those complaining about Baurle, that obscures the agrument and reasons I'm against it. He has some of the same BASIC thoughts but I'm not killing by brothers for trying to enforce it. So we agree in principle. Please understand we're not all "Gun Nuts" but there are problem children. We all need to focus on them, not 'changing laws.

Anonymous said...

It's not a PRIVILEDGE, it's a Constitutional right. We don't swear allegience to the state, the state is there to serve the individual, not dominate and rule over them.

How does WBEN allow there talk show host Tom Bauerle to state he will take out any agents, regardless of the department for which they work, if they attempt to disarm him. WBEN has no only a responsibility to its listening public, but a responsibility to have law abiding employees. Employees who openly state that they will kill police officers if an attempt to disarm him is made, is completely irresponsible and this man should be fired. Could someone please make the proper complaints so that this man is relieved of his privilege to car a pistol and so that he is removed from his job.

Trying to solve the problem of so-called "gun violence" by disarming law abiding citizens is like trying to prevent drunk driving by keeping sober people from buying cars.

USMANDERSON Mike D. • an hour ago −
consider this. I am a cadet at west point. I have 3 years of service including one combat deployment, prior to my acceptance at the academy. currently I can not purchase a rifle because I could not store it at West Point, but I have always wanted to purchase my own Ar-15 style rifle (its a rifle I am familiar with). If this bill is passed, I no longer have the right to purchase the rifle that I wanted to buy. so the argument that they are not taking away liberties from the American people is absolutely false because my right to purchase an ar-15 and almost every single semi-automatic handgun that exists (because they all have the capability to hold more than 10 rounds) will cease to exist.

Im sorry to have to inform some of you, but in New York State (where we live) it is a granted privilege to carry a handgun. You constitutional right does not include handguns. For you to possess that, you must be GRANTED a pistol permit. That permit can be pulled at anytime for many reasons. The same with your drivers license, it is a privilege granted to you by the state. Please do not confuse these privileges as absolute rights, you will be very disappointed. As I write this post, a body of individuals is speaking of an action that will relieve the little radio guy of his HANDGUNS.

A large number of the guns used in crimes in NY come from out of state and enter NY illegally. So now law abiding citizens are screwed?

Also does the exemption in 265.20 still apply? No one has a straight answer on that. I guess it doesn't apply to 265.36 and 265.37 as written. I'm sorry you went to a school or was raised in a household that didn't teach you the founding of our country along with it's RIGHTS and priviledges. The Constitution guaruntees the right to own, display, bear arms. New York state, through liberal politics usurped the right. it is not a priviledge, just because they say it. I feel sorry for you my misinformed friend. People like YOU are ruining it for the rest of us law abiding citizens. You don't want one, don't get one, your choice.
And as far as driving, ya, the state says it's a priviledge, can't argue that but there is nothing in the Constitution that addresses driving or anything else. It does address the right to keep and bear arms, it shall not be infringed. You can't compare state driving/licences to firearms. Two totally different things.

Sir, I assure you I have a state issued gun permit, I also have a badge and am a Police Officer in this state. As an officer I dont need a gun permit to carry, but I have one anyway. But you Sir had better have a State Gun permit if your carrying any handgun. I realize you think New York is breaking the constitution by doing this, but that will not help you if you are caught with a handgun and no permit. The minimum jail sentence in Erie County for possessing a loaded handgun (without permit) is three years. That would be for a first time offender. So, you can act like a constitutional freedom fighter all you want, but me and other officers will throw your ass in jail if we catch you with that illegal handgun.... word to the wise....

True, New York State is one of most liberal states in the nation, nothing new there, move if you cant take it. I was taught about the constitution in school, but my knowledge of that document cant change the fact that you cant carry a handgun in New York State with out an issued pistol permit, has nothing to do with me. New York State says its a privilege they can grant or deny, depends on the individual who is applying.

"Sir, I assure you I have a state issued gun permit, I also have a badge and am a Police Officer in this state. As an officer I dont need a gun permit to carry..."

Relax Francis, I'm an officer too. And I can't remember the last time this county actually convicted and jailed someone for three years first offense if no other crime was comitted. And if you've been around long enough like me you would remember the state passed laws many years ago, Triggerlock or some other BS garanteeing 5 years for simple possession. Only ones ever convicted of that around here, and theres not many, had multiple other felonies and arrests. Just another law that did not do anything.

And " act like a constitutional freedom fighter all you want, but me and other officers will throw your ass in jail if we catch you with that illegal handgun.... word to the wise...." another attempt to denigrate others by using the phrase constitutional freedom fighters. Take the cape off and get back in the real world. And if it's in my home (if I was a non officer) or my place of business to protect persons and families its an A Mis., probably not more than six months. Relax, when the time comes you can arrest real criminals doing real gun crimes, there certainly not a lack of them despite the laws passed to stop them. They haven't.

Your right, I agree. But i bristle at that fact because it's wrong. Someday, I hope, the pendulum will swing back to recognizing the Right and we will celebrate good people who exercise that right. I will not mess with good people exercising their right in a non-criminal way.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo last week signed into law a state ban similar to Feinstein's proposed measure.

National Rifle Association President David Keene said Wednesday New York's ban on assault weapons was likely unconstitutional and his organization planned to file a "notice of claim" against the state -- the first step toward a possible lawsuit.

"A so-called assault-weapons ban in today's world is probably unconstitutional," Keene told radio station WGDJ, Rensselaer, N.Y., citing the U.S. Supreme Court's 2008 ruling in District of Columbia vs. Heller, which he said prevents the government from banning "commonly used firearms."

Associate Justice Antonin Scalia's opinion for the majority provided Second Amendment protection for commonly used and popular handguns, but not for atypical arms or arms used for unlawful purposes, such as sawed-off shotguns.

Where will it stop? Not just weapons, cars? Clothes? Hairstyle? If you can't define a weapon because there is NO EVIDENCE to support your claim that they are the PRIMARY TOOL OF CRIMINALS, you make up things that define the 'bad' guns. Bayonet lug!? Pistol grip!? Grenade launcher!? The last one is really difficult since I am left wondering 'what kind of grenade launcher'?

You don't need a magazine with a capacity of more than ten rounds. Really? Let's take ONE example of a shootout between EIGHT highly trained FBI agents and TWO armed criminals.

Criminal 1 - shot SIX times before dying

Criminal 2 - shot TWELVE times before dying! This guy was shot six times, advanced on the FBI and wounded/killed two agents before being shot six more times!

Total number of rounds fired - >145

Drug screen of criminals - negative

She was summoned on Wednesday to answer difficult and important questions, and that is what Hillary Clinton did. The attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, still demands answers, and the secretary of state did not shrink from her necessary testimony.

Appearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and then the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the outgoing secretary of state once again took responsibility for the deaths of four Americans in Libya. She rejected the continuing Republican fantasy that misinformation circulated after the attack is more important than the attack, itself, and even drew an admiring compliment from an otherwise critical Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

Though I disagree with it, the poster is spot on Franny, it is three years if you the cop did a good job when you came across that gun. I do understand that many many gun cases get tossed, that is not what is being discussed here. We are talking about current cops who know their jobs and do it well. Not idiots with badges and no brains. The facts are clear, it is 3 years minimum, first offense if the arrest is legally conducted. C district need not apply.

READ AND WAKE UP NRA!!

Sturm said his eventual ambition was to expand the database so that it tracked guns from the moment they were manufactured, not just when they are sold. That might also help officials keep better tabs on illegal weapons, which many groups estimate far outnumber legal ones, at upward of 20 million. (Sturm claims the actual number is far lower.) Even if illegal weapons turn up, Sturm hopes to have an easier time tracking their origins.

“We want in the future to be able to fully view the life cycle of a gun, without any gap,” he said. “From its birth at production to its end. Every move, every development.”

German gun owners must be licensed and pass strict safety exams to use their weapons. Police in Germany have the power to drop by gun owners’ homes to check that the firearms are locked up according to regulations. And few people are allowed to carry guns in public.

In 2010, the latest year for which data are available, 26.3 percent of homicides in Germany were committed with a firearm, according to U.N. statistics; in the United States, that figure was 67.5 percent.

“We now have the instruments that we need,” said Dennis Golcher, an official in the weapons-administration section of Berlin’s police department. “We really appreciate this national register. It has considerably improved our work.”

Washington Post special correspondent Petra Krischok contributed to this report.

AUSTRALIA'S GUN LAW

Everyone should be very careful about what your government wants you to NOT have.
Australian Gun Law Update
Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts....

From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia.
Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent) in the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.
Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns....' You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.
The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note Americans, before it's too late!
Will you be one of the sheep to turn yours in?
WHY? You will need it.

This is the stuff that is important right now. Our union and members need to get refocused and be prepared to stop the attacks on all public employees. Time for solidarity.

The Untold Story of Gun Confiscation After Katrina

Anonymous said...

The following quote was taken from the NRA Institute for Legislative Action website for October 8, 2008:

Under the terms of the injunction, Mayor Ray Nagin, Police Chief Warren Riley and any agents or employees of the City of New Orleans shall:

• cease and desist confiscating lawfully-possessed firearms from all citizens;
• make an aggressive attempt to return any and all firearms which may have been confiscated during the period August 29 to December 31, 2005;
• within one month of the settlement, post on the City website the procedure for the return of confiscated firearms. This notice must include an interactive form for those claiming firearms to fill out, resulting in timely transmission of the information to the appropriate official. All other information on claiming a firearm will also be included on the site.
• within one month of the settlement, the City must mail notices to all individuals who are identified on the property tags of firearms in the City's possession which were confiscated during the aftermath of Katrina.
“On behalf of the lawful gun owners of New Orleans, NRA is pleased with this outcome,” said Chris W. Cox, NRA’s chief lobbyist. “We thank Judge Barbier for his leadership and constitutional scholarship in presiding over our lawsuit. NRA will continue to aid however we can in the full return of all the firearms confiscated by the City.”

What should be pointed out here, in spite of the constant harping by the media about the guns, it was never really about the guns in storage!

Law enforcement officials seized what is now believed to be thousands of guns from citizens for months following Hurricane Katrina. The correspondingly small number of guns which were stored were only those turned in to NOPD—and few of those were of any great worth.

Removable magazines are already banned in California, but, technically, the bullet button is legal because it is not triggered by the tip of a bullet, not the human finger (which holds the bullet). This small change has allowed rifles such as the AR-15 to enter the Golden State.

Not everyone is happy.

State Senator Leland Yee told CBS5: “When I saw the news I was absolutely horrified. It is extremely important that individuals in the state of California do not own assault weapons. I mean that is just so crystal clear, there is no debate, no discussion."

State Senator Yee has now introduced a bill to ban the bullet button: “What I am proposing is to essentially prevent any mechanism that would allow the conversion of an assault weapon into a way that you can fire these magazines upon magazines without effort."

INFO FROM OFF. OF DIV. COUNSEL ALBANY, NY - TO ALL POLICE AGENCIES- REGARDING VEHICLE CONSENT TO SEARCH

On October 27, 2005, the Court of Appeals issued a decision that outlines the scope of automobile consent searches. In People v. Gomez, the court held that a consent of an automobile that damages the automobile exceeds the scope of defendant's consent and was therefore unconstitutional under the fourth amendment.

This case involved a NYPD Officer who stopped a vehicle for excessively tinted windows. He became suspicious that the car had a hidden compartment after the driver provided an altered registration card and the officer had noticed fresh undercoating on the undercarriage around the area of the gas tank. After receiving an oral consent to search from the driver, the officer pulled back the rear seat and observed a "non - factory" carpet in the area that would have been just above where he had seen the fresh undercoating. Continuing the search, he pulled up the glued carpet, observed a cut in the floor board, and used his plastic pocketknife to twist open the sheet metal. Observing what appeared to be a plastic bag in the compartment, he then used a crowbar to pry open the compartment and found 1 1/2 pounds of cocaine in 7 separate bags.

The Court of Appeals held that, although the law allows a police officer to examine bags and readily opened containers found in a vehicle during a general consent search, the officer in this case exceeded the scope of this consent by removing attached carpeting and physically altering the sheet metal with the crowbar.

The Court head that such general consent to search does not give an officer unfettered search authority. In the absence of other circumstances indicating that the defendant consented to the specific actions taken by the police a general consent alone cannot justify a search that
causes damage to the vehicle;
impairs the structural integrity of vehicle; or,
results in the vehicle being returned in a materially different manner than it was found.

Police officers conducting consent searches should not take any action that causes damage to a vehicle without requesting and receiving specific consent to do so. Officers should also ensure that, at the conclusion of the search, they restore the vehicle to the same condition it was in prior to the search.

It should be noted that the court based this decision on the aspect of the consent, and did not consider whether the officer had probable cause to search this vehicle and, if so, the permissible extent of that search.

Old Judge Joe Sedita was a very small man who carried a big gun.
One night he was at dinner and went to the men's room and a light bulb blew and Old Joe thought he was being shot at, so he started shooting at the ceiling in the restaurant bathroom.
Old story from the 70;s..but still hysterical and shows you the mind of the Sedita family men..et al!

I think that would be an A- Misd. under Cuomo's "New" law. How about some stiff sentences and high charges for gun crimes before you start curtailing my rights?

Guns found in car after city traffic stop
A Buffalo man and three teenaged boys were arrested by Buffalo police on weapons, marijuana and obstructing charges after three loaded handguns and a sawed-off shotgun were found in their car after a traffic stop Wednesday night on Hagen Street near Lang Avenue .
Christopher McCleary, 45, of East Delavan Avenue, was stopped after failing to stop for a stop sign at the intersection, police reported.
In the car officers found the sawed-off shotgun, a loaded .22 caliber revolver, a loaded .38 caliber revolver and a loaded 9mm pistol, according to a police report.

Prosecutors in Buffalo Area Conduct Probe of Missing Funds

Submitted by Carl Horowitz on Mon, 12/18/2006 - 01:00

Erie County, N.Y. prosecutors have a hunch that a local police officers’ union has been ripped off. And they’ve got a good idea as to the culprits’ identity. On December 4, the district attorney’s office confirmed it is investigating thefts from the Transit Police Benevolent Association, which represents law enforcement officers for the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA), for embezzlement of more than $30,000. “We are looking for a charge against anyone responsible for the misappropriation of union funds,” said John DeFranks, first deputy assistant attorney. “We have centered upon one person at this time.”
That person likely had inside help. Sources say that at least two union officials in longtime leadership positions, are under scrutiny. DeFranks expects to wrap up the probe within a few weeks. NFTA Executive Director Lawrence Meckler emphasized the investigation is focused solely on union funds. “We are cooperating fully, but it is strictly a union matter. No authority funds are involved,” he said.

The problem is the "me" mentality. Everybody is out for themselves instead of doing what's best for the group. If you don't like making things better for everyone, then get out of the union. And if you don't take sides, then every side will despise you

Two who stole money from volunteer organizations avoid jail
BY: Patrick Lakamp / News Staff Reporter | @LakampBuffNews

One is an ex-teacher who admitted stealing $17,000 from a parent-teacher group.
The other is a former youth football league president and treasurer who unlawfully cashed checks made payable to himselfand took $8,000 in cash from concession stand proceeds.
“We see our fair share of embezzlement cases, but it’s especially troubling when these thieves steal from children or organizations that benefit children,” said Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III.
Erie County Judge Thomas P. Franczyk said he struggled to reconcile how two otherwise law-abiding people could commit acts amounting to such a “significant breach of trust.”
Both offenders lost their jobs, but not their freedom.
Franczyk sentenced Jablonski, 42, the former teacher, to a conditional discharge and ordered her to perform 250 hours of community service for her third-degree attempted grand larceny conviction.
Jablonski made unauthorized withdrawals from the bank account of the Cayuga Heights Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization while serving as its treasurer from 2008 to 2010, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
“It looks like you played fast and loose with the ATM card to the tune of $17,000,” Franczyk said.
Prosecutor Paul E. Bonanno said Jablonski made full restitution shortly after she pleaded guilty in October.
“I just want to say one more time how sorry I am,” Jablonski said during her sentencing. She now lives in Montgomery County, Md., and will perform her community service there.
The District Attorney’s Office previously said Jablonski spent the money on personal expenses, but the judge indicated gambling as an issue with his remark that she seemed to find “solace at slot machines.”
In the other case, Franczyk sentenced Mascio to five years’ probation and ordered him to pay more than $12,000 in further restitution.
Mascio, 43, previously pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny for stealing more than $13,000 from the Lakeshore Youth Football League. He had faced a prison sentence of up to four years.
Mascio was serving as the league’s president and treasurer when the thefts occurred between February and June 2011.
He brought to court $1,000 in money orders toward restitution.
Assistant District Attorney John G. Schoemick said the remaining restitution would be paid in monthly payments of $201 over five years.
Mascio could not explain to the judge why he stole the money. “I’m just very sorry, embarrassed,” he said.
“I’m all about my children, other children and the community,” he said, as his two teenage children sat in the courtroom watching the proceeding.
“Nothing like this will happen again,” said Mascio, a former Head Start administrator who is now unemployed. “I’ll do whatever I can to pay this debt.”

I can't take credit for writing this, but a friend sent me this in email:

A person steals guns, (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), shoots and kills his own mother (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), transports these guns loaded (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), brings guns onto school property (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), breaks into the school (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), discharges the weapons within city limits (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), and murders 26 people (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW).

There are people in this country who think that passing ANOTHER LAW banning guns will somehow protect us from someone like this. The fact is, people like this are not concerned about laws. The only people that a gun ban law would impact are the LAW ABIDING CITIZENS, which will only serve to cripple our ability to protect ourselves.

That same high level of respect is probably why Obama has publicly acknowledged the scores of sheriffs who vowed not to enforce unconstitutional gun laws, and why they have all been invited to the white house to express their opinions on the effects of gun control. Oh wait. Nevermind.

A son steals a gun and kills his mother blah blah blah..... and we all know that it was his mothers guns that he did all of the killings with... well, unfortunately, your defeating yourself with your own argument. The mother was a law abiding citizen who opted to possess GUNS. If the law had prohibited her from that right (as it is attempting to do now), then her son would not have been able to obtain HER GUNS. Get it stupid? That is why the government must clean society of GUNS. As the Sandy Hook Massacre proved, allowing law abiding citizens the right to possess guns is to much of a liability. Law abiding citizens to often are careless and absent minded about the storage of these killing tools.

The reason so few signed the petition is because anyone who did, will most certainly be black balled by some PBA leaders. The petition was not the proper avenue to take this fight. Had the author of the petition done his homework, he would have known that even if the majority of members signed it, it had no weight or authority to remove Mistel from his position. Contrary to popular belief, even PBA president Panus doesnt have the sole authority to remove Mistel. If he did, he wouldnt anyway. Mistel's punishment is having to walk through the halls of this Police Department with his head hung low. He knows that every PBA member thinks of him as a thief, regardless if he is or not.

358 people died during 2012 from all forms of rifles(including dreaded "Assault Weapons").

Considering that there are over 30,000,000 of the damn things in the hands of 12,000,000 Americans they do indeed seem to be statistically safer than automobiles, swimming pools and even some home appliances.

Letting a crazy person or a felon get their hands on one seems to be the source of most of those 358 deaths from assault weapons.

Public safety would be better served by forcing accountability on their owners for keeping them out of the hands of wackos than to try to ban something more common than iPads.

PRINCE CUOMO SAID....

The reason for the rush, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said at a press conference on Tuesday, was not to sneak the legislation through but to make sure it could achieve what it set out to do: Reduce the number of assault weapons in the state. "If we had made that announcement and then waited for three days we believe you would have seen an unprecedented period possibly of people buying assault weapons before the law was passed just to get in under the wire, if you will."

The Resistance Begins:

New York Gun Owners Refuse To Register; “Largest Act of Civil Disobedience In State History”

Read more at http://marketdailynews.com

Preparations are already being made for mass resistance.
“I’ve heard from hundreds of people that they’re prepared to defy the law, and that number will be magnified by the thousands, by the tens of thousands, when the registration deadline comes,’’ said President Brian Olesen with American Shooters Supply, among the biggest gun dealers in the state, in an interview with the New York Post.
Even government officials admit that forcing New Yorkers to register their guns will be a tough sell, and they are apparently aware that massive non-compliance will be the order of the day. “Many of these assault-rifle owners aren’t going to register; we realize that,’’ a source in the Cuomo administration told the Post, adding that officials expect “widespread violations” of the new statute.
Threats of imprisoning gun owners for up to a year and confiscating their weapons are already being issued by governor’s office, headed by a rabid anti-Second Amendment extremist who suggested before the bill passed that “confiscation” of all semi-automatic rifles was being considered. If tens or even hundreds of thousands of otherwise law-abiding citizens refuse to comply, however, analysts say New York would either have to start raising taxes and building a lot more prisons, or give up on the scheme that experts say will do nothing to reduce violence and that lawmakers say is aimed at eventual confiscation.
Activists involved in the state-wide boycott against the unconstitutional statute who spoke to the Post almost taunted authorities, saying gun owners would essentially dare authorities to “come and take it away.”

Start grooming a potential slate for the top 5 leadership spots in the PBA. If you want to sanctimoniously oust the Meegan era, then Panus, Mistel and any of their scribes must go. The new slate must promise to wipe the old slate clean. A complete and utter scale down of spending should be enacted from day one. Selflessness and frugality and transparency should be the new theme. The delegate pool should be cut by a third. Union meetings should be video taped and aired on the PBA website. Darien lake, the golf tournament and other social outings should be scrutinized and or dropped. The blue line should be online only. The awards banquet should be untouched. After one year of this new order, union dues should be adjusted to match PBA spending. No union member should pay for a country club setting that they dont get to enjoy or want. At present, the PBA country club that the 5 leaders and delegates enjoy is paid for by you the worker. They squander your money on monthly parties and social gatherings that all of them enjoy, it is their social life. PBA dues should be used for hard core union business and nothing else. Bring the new slates on , lets see what happens.

The petition was never meant to be a tool to impeach the Treasurer. It is a test to see how the delegates will disseminate information and to but pressure on B.M. to gracefully step down. For the past year very little information has made it to the union body on this topic. It is clear that all the way back to March of 2012 the current Pres. and an attorney where trying to figure out the best wat to resoulve this quitely. Oddly enough the person deciding how to correct this problem was also one of the people who collected the monthly $500.00 check. They fixed this problem by changing the terminology from "expense" to "stipend". The stipend thus has a FICA respondsibility attached by both the payee (officers) and the payer (union). Still the question really comes down to when was this authorized? and by who? So pull your head out of the sand and come to realization that financial liberties were taken by your past Union officers. Sure they secured great contracts in the past but they were also compensated accordingly. It becomes a proplem when those entrusted with the best interests of an organization put themselves ahead of the group. A feeling that they have earned everything they are receiving and more whether it is approved or not. I have witnessed first hand the consequences of what happens when a previous Union Officer was question about anything!! The entire Union is to blame for not crying foul to the proposed budgets that were submitted every year by the Treasurer. Look back at those yearly budget reports and you will be embarrassed at how we allowed are dues to be spent so carelessly. Never again! There may never be any criminal prosecution but when (if) that audit is ever released you will be sick at how our money was spent. You will also have a better understanding why it is in certain peoples benefit to assure you nothing wrong ever transpired. Many people benefited from the past practices of how things ran. Try to remember this come election time. Everything old should be shown the door.

You are CORRECT, it was NOT stolen, it was MISAPPROPRIATED. How many examples do you want?
Where have you been the last year?
Do you want the secret stipen example? The $1,800.00 premier liquor bill for Darien Lake & we didnt serve liquor, the $2500.00 to the house chair (Iaswallow) for "expenses" at Darien Lake or the $1000.00 "expenses" at our open house he also got. How about the $400.00 box of cigars? Shall I go on? Ok I will, how about Misztals $100.00 check he pays to himself just to sit down & write checks. More you say, thats not good enough! Shall I start with the ( 3 ) yes 3 credit cards. There is also a Chase credit card that Misztal wrote checks for in addition to the ( 2 ) Meegan had. Take a look at Misztals ledgers, its listed right in the ledger.
If you insist, I will go on with atleast a 1/2 dozen more examples: $700.00 each for the ( 9 ) guys with no receipts to go rub elbows & introduce the (slate) down state before the election .....Don't forget about when BOB & the boys went on vacation & they all brought a guest. What did you tell me it cost Misztal....$18,000 or so? Its listed right there in the ledger, take a look or are you still scared to see the TRUTH . If you want, I can give you the check #'s to help you find them in the ledger & not the "misplaced" ones. This infor comes right from the ledger Misztal still has, shocker I know........ shall I give you a few days to put your spin on this? Cuz these are the facts & they are undisputed. You can ask Dooley to put it on paper, this was all covered in the general meetings; don't you remember? I guess you ran off to get something to drink at the time this was discused during the meeting.
If you can disprove any of my FACTS, I will list more. Then when you disprove all of those FACTS, I will list more......& if you can spin those also, maybe we can stop.

The $1,800.00 premier liquor bill for Darien Lake & we didnt serve liquor, the $2500.00 to the house chair (Iaswallow) for "expenses" at Darien Lake or the $1000.00 "expenses" at our open house he also got. How about the $400.00 box of cigars
$700.00 each for the ( 9 ) guys with no receipts to go rub elbows & introduce the (slate) down state before the election
Ok union backer, are you saying that these expenditures are legitimate. Who in their right mind would think that this is ok. This is a disgrace and so are you. Stop posting on this line and telling us to move on. We will not 'move on" the parties responsible for this blatant theft will be outed and prosecuted. And you sir, who benefitted as well, will be laid plain before your peers and labeled as a thief as well.

Jury convicts Buffalo man of murder
BY: PATRICK LAKAMP / NEWS STAFF REPORTER | @LakampBuffNews

A jury today convicted Darryl D. Jones Jr. of fatally shooting a man from whom Jones tried to steal marijuana in December 2011.

Jones, 24, of Hertel Avenue, was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder, first-degree attempted robbery and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Sources close to the investigation said there was a Video Tape of the crime and by coincidence a Van full of Catholic Nuns happened to be driving by and witnessed the shooting.

Some of the answers to the questions raised over the "audit" of Meegans books are not as sinister as the author alledges. the 400 dollar cigars is a the only payment to a financial manager who takes care of the death benefit account. That is his only "pay" for a yearly service. He actually does not charge for his services it is just a way of saying thank you for your help. Wow, that is criminal isn't it?
700 dollars for 9 guys to go to the upstate pba convention. That is suppose to cover their expenses for leaving their families, staying at a hotel for several days, eating, travel and listening to speakers scheduled to educate them on how to help the union be more effective. Again, really criminal there.
The liquor bill at Darien lake was not 1800 but, yep you got that one right. It was about half that total and it was for a private stock for Meegan and his croonies. Not criminal but not appropriate.
Bet if any asks for the receipts for the four events the union runs Iafello could produce them. Yeah, lets kick him in the balls though for being the only one to volunteer to organize all of these events which we all enjoy. Better yet, lets just cancel them. No more golf tournament, no awards dinner, no open house and, definitely no Darien lake. Why bother with those type of things, private sector companies do not have picnics or dinners...ect.
Congrats all you know it all posters... you win lets just get rid of the whole union and see how we fair with the city. Or maybe you think that asshole clusella can fix all these problems. Guess you missed all the positive changes Panus has already made. By the way cusella/parrot...call me a lapdog again.

BALLSTON SPA — Saratoga County sheriff's deputies oppose most of New York's new gun laws, a union leader said Wednesday.

Charles Fuller, president of the Saratoga County Deputy Sheriffs' Police Benevolent Association, spoke days after the 105-member union expressed their "strong opposition" to the SAFE Act in a sharply worded letter to Gov. Andrew Cuomo and other state leaders. The adopted legislation will not increase public safety, Fuller wrote.

"Mandating law-abiding gun owners to now have to register certain types of firearms on a yearly basis, in addition to registering them on their permits (which now must be renewed every five years), accomplishes nothing in the area of public safety and is unnecessarily burdensome to a citizen who has done nothing but abide by the laws of our state," the letter states.

The gun restrictions, PBA members said, represented a "thinly veiled attempt at regulating lawful gun ownership out of existence."

Doesnt Dan I, get $250 each month ? Is he the only person qualified to organize an event ? 9 people go to a convention ? Why would anyone but the fab 5 go ? That bs has to end. You are warped if you think buying liquor for an organization and keeping it for yourself isn't criminal. Maybe you enjoyed the koolaid and it took over your brain. And there is no reason you would have to cancel those events. That is a typical knee jerk reaction dumb Danny is noted for. The PBA will be much better off when the audit comes out and we can all see for ourselves and make our own determinations. I want to see these checks for myself.

This comment resonates through MANY police unions throughout Western New York. Theft and embezzlement from a PBA is often overlooked because of "all da good work dees guys dew."

How about ordering 5 cases of liquor for a party attended by 30 people? By the end of the night, 4 cases have made their way into someone's trunk. Is it larceny?

If you're the one bringing up such an issue, prepare to be outcast and ostracized. As a rule unions don't like to air their dirty laundry.

Im sure everybody appreciates and is grateful to the financial manager who takes care of the death benefit account. Isn't this the same guy (Mike Ward) who would sit & drink for free on the union dime after each meeting? I would rather Bob have given him a $400 check or gift certificate as "THANK YOU" something that can be easily tracked as to who was spending the money & who was the recipient.
$700.00 was not FOR (9) guys, it was $700.00 EACH, $6,300.00 for "EXPENSES". As long as those "EXPENSES" can be backed up with receipts OR like BURTON'S email to PANUS stated: "NONACCOUNTABLE EXPENSES triggers obligations on (2) levels. One is to the employee (PBA Officer) to pay ordinary Federal & State income tax on the amounts received. Secondly, Federal IRS Regulation: 31.3121(a)-3 clearly requires the paying entity (the PBA) to deduct appropriate withholdings & employment taxes commonly known as (FICA). So show me IRS form (941) & NYS form 45 along with W2's for said officers that these "EXPENSES" were claimed. If you need assistance with this, contact Mr. NICASTRO @ RENDA & RENDA im sure he would be more than happy to send over copies of the ones he has on file right.
The top (5) also during the month of AUG. received $700.00 each ($3,500.00 for "EXPENCES" to attend the same said conference & never left the Buffalo area. I would also like to see those receipts IF MISZTAL can find them. ($9,800.00) for one conference, i dont think so.
& YES that is CRIMINAL. Don't believe me, ask the IRS.
Darien Lake liquor bill. Im sorry i don't have my numbers readily available right now, but like you stated; even if it was 1/2 of what i stated, for Bob & his "croonie" you called them, that is also ILLEGAL. Taking for personal gain. How about the $1,024.47 lodging bill for Darien Lake? I know, I know..... for BOB.
As for Iaswallow's $2,500.00 compensation for "EXPENSES" show receipts or same as above example also applies for taxes. Besides, he doesn't volunteer, he gets paid $250.00 a month or $3,000.00 a year & don't forget about all the union days off of work for his APPOINTED position (House Chairman). Not bad for a VOLUNTEER! You should look up the meaning of the word VOLUNTEER. And please don't tell us he got the $2,500.00 because of his CONNECTIONS that saved us $10thousand at Darien.
The open house, The event is catered: $1,100.00 to Will Poultry $1,300.00 for pig, $5,500.00 Kathleen Kumro $1,300.00 Pellicano's, Frontier Liquor $1,882.00 ( didn't serve liquor.) Who the fuck is MEEGAN related to that works there?
Whats Iaswallow's $1,000.00expenses? Is this also for his connections & all the money he saved us? What a joke! As for the events, we don't ALL enjoy. I hate golf & i would like to see a count of the coppers that stopped by the open house. I bet it wasn't even a simple majority, but i bet it was 100% of the Kool-Aid drinkers showed. And got the day off of work. You want me to list the P-3's? I didn't think so. I dont like Darien & havent been there for a union function ever.
Why didn't you REBUT the $19,740.90 bill for the top (5) & guest for each to the conference.
Should I even mention Meegan's $27,554.50 credit card bill for 2010 OR $28,629.75 Meegan credit card bill for 2011. ALL WITH NO RECEIPTS, atleast thats what MISZTAL said during the general membership meeting.
You haven't disproven any of my FACTS. All you tried to do was explain. Guilty people explain their misactions, its called a defense. Wrong accusations are disproven. Yet again, we are left waiting for answers.
Your turn.......

THE PARROT

After cash, liquor is probably the commodity most frequently stolen by police union members.

Access to a union credit card gives you carte blanche to buy whatever you choose. How many union functions are there each year? Benefits, parties and banquets all require an ample supply of booze. Since there is no inventory and little accountability, much of the surplus ends up at someone's private bar or pool cabana. Or worse, it's distributed as Xmas gifts.

Anonymous said...

While Panus and megan enjoy these lofty parties, has anyone been doing our bidding against City hall? Why are we paying the lucky few to party with their friends and family on our tit? The proof is clear to see, we haven't had a raise or a boost in benefits in YEARS. Yet some here will have you believe that the same guys that have been milking your wallet to theirs are the best we can do. I think it is time for a big change. By law change number 1, no union moneys will be spent on alcohol period.

1. Does the current President have a credit card paid for with my dues?
2. Is there a party after every union meeting?
3. If so, does my dues pay for the whole bar tab?
4. Is the Board being taken out and treated to dinners and drinks after they meet?
5. Is there a complaint about the ALL the current exectuve panel?
6. Is the current execs stealing our money?
Thanks

RE: Muise said that Silver wasn’t pushing her faith on students.
The original poster she was told to take down contained a quote from Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians: “Be on guard. Stand true to what you believe. Be courageous. Be strong. And everything you do must be done in love.”
The quote was superimposed over a picture of an American flag and school books.
“Is that proselytizing?” asked Muise.
The district demanded that Silver take down a posted quote from Ronald Reagan, in which the former president declares “without God democracy will not and cannot endure” and “If ever we forget that we are One nation Under God, then we will be a Nation gone under.”
The district ordered Silver to remove even the small personal sticky notes with Bible quotes she kept on her desk and to keep any Bible verses in a private folder.

NRA Winning the Influence Battle Over Gun Control

The gun control debate is clearly one of the most contentious and controversial issues in America today. And the battle over gun control is now being waged through intensive media campaigns from both sides of the political spectrum to influence public opinion and to assert pressure on policy makers. So who’s winning? To find out, we turned to objective data provided exclusively to Forbes Insights by Appinions, the influence marketing platform. Keep in mind Forbes Insights has no agenda other than to shed research light on the process of measuring influence and what we can learn from it. The facts are objective, whatever your perspective on the issue may be. We certainly don’t aim to promote either side and are just stating the facts of influence and who is leading or gaining ground through the lens of influence.

Forbes Insights and Opinions looked at the data for the week prior to the Sandy Hook tragedy and trended the data over the subsequent 5 weeks to determine the ebb and flow over the gun control debate. We found that the NRA and the pro-gun rights voices are winning the influence battle and will continue to be strong and more influential if the pro gun control voice remains fragmented.

BUFFALO SNEWZ ARTICLE

Brown holds back on gun-control law
BY: ROBERT MCCARTHY / THE BUFFALO NEWS

--------------------------------

Perhaps Mayor Brown is a realist, not feeding in on the mass hysteria created by the anti-gun lobby. Most of the homicides in the United States are not committed with assault weapons, but with illegal handguns. Restricting bolt action, semi-automatic rifles will have no impact on the homicide rate. The same with high capacity magazines. Criminals as well as the mentally sick who wish to commit mass murder will always find access to weapons and magazines. To outlaw rifles and high capacity magazines is just another law which will have no impact on those who could care less about our laws. After all homicide is also prohibited by law. No, these laws will merely impact law abiding citizens by infringing on their rights to bear arms. Mayor Brown needs to embrace laws and security provisions which protect our children and the public en large. In Buffalo this is best accomplished by a combination of architectural barriers, security procedures and armed guards in our public schools as well as venues of public assembly. The enhancement of sentences for crimes committed with any type of weapon is also called for and Mayor Brown should support such legislation. However, the legislation as rammed down our throats by Gov. Cuomo will find little support in WNY, or in Buffalo and Mayor Brown is smart to distance himself from this legislation.

Anonymous said...

The Mayor is smart not to jump on Cuomo's over-reaching gun restrictions, passed illegally, violating the NYState constitution by eliminating the discussion period. Using the Sandy Hook School tragedy to enhance his political aspirations is a disgusting display of his lack of character.

Almost everyone is not in favor of civilian ownership of military assault weapons. However ,his new unlawful "law", took away the right to own over a hunderd other categories of guns

. Too much for one wekend's work, Andrew.

I agree with the Mayor on this one...not letting Cuomo spread the blame for his "most strict gun laws in the nation"...

Good thinking, Mayor Brown.

Wow... I'm a first time poster and rarely look at this site. But with all the drama I wanted to see if any new info was available. If I may offer some opions/advice:
1. NO MEDIA! that will not acomplish the goal of getting anwsers to the questions, it will just shed light on the conflict within the Union.
2. Come to a meeting and ask the questions directly to the President or Treasurer. Force them to face this head on.
3. Demand to see the Audit. The a draft has been sent to the Union officers, I hear the Pres. is trying to have it cleaned up, some of the findings were a little too pointed.
4. Realize that who ever is posting the crap about "destorying the entity that protects you" is being a drama queen! We are exposing what transpired in the PAST!! Not an on going problem wuth current officers. If anything it shows forward progress to a Union that needed change. I'm sorry if this sheds bad light on two guys who are here from the past administrartion, that's their problem. The next election vote for the best canidate that you feel won't be tainted by thier past mistakes.

Unfortunately I have heard an independant 3rd party agency has been tipped off. They will examine the issues and see if they criminal or a civil matter that can be addressed. I say unfortunately because if the Pres. would have been forth comming a year ago and addresssed the issues in a open and honest manner the rumors never would have spun out of control. The illusion of a cover up makes it all the worse. The final straw was the ARROGANT, SELFISH, GREEDY, TREASURER, who was graciuosly offered a way out and refused. When the subpoenas show up, and they will, direct your contempt towards him and Meegan. Remember there was an attempt to do an audit with missing records (Treasurer), no credit card receipts (Meegan), and they audit company consulted the current Pres. several times for clarification on questionable spending.

One last note, ask yourself why the five past officers took T.B.'s advice to pay the Unions Portion of the past FICA responsibility? That's just silly! If I did nothing wrong why in the hell would I volunteer to pay the Unions portion??? Right? $7000.00. If I had rightfully earned that money I would have told T.B. to F off. Nope, they paid it out of the goodness of there heart. Now just repay every cent from that "Affiated Organization account for the past how many years you wrote yourself checks from it and we're square. Sleep well...

Hey, Leftyline snitches, while you're leaving unsigned notes under the Buffalo News Office door and leaving anonymous messages on the FBI snitchline, don't forget to tip off the IRS about all your friends and colleagues who were big Super Bowl pool winners yesterday. I mean if you're going to be a rat bastard to brother cops, why leave any stones unturned?

What the fuck ever happened to this job?

Sorry my brother it's a new breed out there. The job is not the same or as fun anymore.

Let me get this straight, our trusted PBA leaders under MeeAgain swindle money from us for 20 yrs and you are calling us snitches for revealing this? We are snitches for pushing this issue to exposure so that a criminal prosecution can be started? We are snitches because we safely through anonymity post pertinent information on this subject? No, you are the snitch. You are the one that will carry the names of those who are uncovering this to the bulling PBA members of yesterday.

These kids on the job today laugh at me when I tell them there was once a time when ALL the coppers on this department got along fine with each other, more or less. You'd have personal beefs now and again, and bouts of racial mistrust from time to time, but for the most part, we all looked out for each other. We had each other's back, and snitching to IAD, much less the media and outside agencies just never happened.

I agree with you Old Time Copper, what ever happened to this job?

I think retirement and the beaches of Florida are calling. Can't take too much more of these spoiled, everybody-gets-a-trophy generation, suburban raised, know-it-all, rookie cops.

The Superbowl has become a parody of itself.
It should be sponsored by MTV instead of CBS.
It's come to resemble The Longest Yard, rather than a contest between the top 2 teams.

Except for hockey, professional sports are more of a representation of the thug and gangster lifestyle than a display of talented professional athletes. Where else, other than Attica, can an accessory to a double murder be on the field?

Good thing AMC was re-running the Walking Dead last night.

Cut the shit you 2nd floor cock lover. You're pushing a bullshit agenda. You want to play expose the conspiracy? How about we expose the big game being played here? Why not? Bring the whole house down on everybody's head.

Funny how some guys don't want to see others "jammed-up" for the (alleged) commission of fraud, embezzlement, grand larceny and misappropriation of other peoples money.

These are probably the same hypocrites that demand free coffee, free meals and free booze at every corner store, and the same ones that bitch and moan about the DA not doing his job.

So Bob M. appoints J. Panus to the position of treasurer. Did anyone see this coming? Do you mean to tell me that all of the smart people on the job today that were available, Bob M. appoints J. Panus to this position? What were his credentials? Was this their first step to protecting them when they leave?
Hoo boy this is going to blow up and leave more cellulite when it explodes than what a former dog trainer carried around in his oversized belly.

New York passed the toughest gun control laws in the nation last week. The SAFE Act called for a new assault weapons ban, among other measures. Over this past weekend, New York State Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin revealed other measures that were removed from the final bill that was eventually signed into law.

These 15 measures were pulled from the final bill:

1. Confiscation of "assault weapons"
2. Confiscation of ten round clips
3. Statewide database for ALL Guns
4. Continue to allow pistol permit holder's information to be replaced to the public
5. Label semiautomatic shotguns with more than 5 rounds or pistol grips as "assault weapons”
6. Limit the number of rounds in a magazine to 5 and confiscation and forfeiture of banned magazines
7. Limit possession to no more than two (2) magazines
8. Limit purchase of guns to one gun per person per month
9. Require re-licensing of all pistol permit owners
10. Require renewal of all pistol permits every five years
11. State issued pistol permits
12. Micro-stamping of all guns in New York State
13. Require licensing of all gun ammo dealers
14. Mandatory locking of guns at home
15. Fee for licensing, registering weapons

This list reveals that gun control advocates were pushing for even harder measures to be included in the bill. But what is most telling is that these advocates were calling for confiscation of so-called "assault weapons" as well as the confiscation of magazines over five rounds, which would be almost all magazines. Another point to note is that these measures also called for a "database" or registry of all firearms in the state as well as a fee for licensing as well as registering.

A Democrat in the assembly urged McLaughlin not to share this list as it would serve to "dampen compromise."

Perhaps Coumo should make his speech in Chicago...what a success Chicago's gun laws are! Only the criminals and gang-bangers have guns.

No. To begin with, most of old timers who used to have to work second fronts don't give a shit that Bobby and company took liberties. They were worth every one they took and then some. You fucking piss pots and the few coniving old timers who do have a problem are the worst pieces of shit in the department because you cocksuckers would sell your own mothers in a minute. The young piss pots don't have a clue and the old timers have short memories. Fuck all you bums.
