Restrict ammunition magazines to seven bullets, from the current national standard of 10. Current owners of higher-capacity magazines would have a year to sell them out of state. Someone caught with eight or more bullets in a magazine could face a misdemeanor charge.

We have a very divided union. On one hand, theres the Panus/meegan crew. That group is always looking for ways to get your money and spend it on parties, vacations and give aways. Those delegates of that group are waiting for their turn at the $500.00 a month club. If your delegates favor Panus, you are being robbed and lied to.
On the other hand you have the dues paying members who are hoping for a better shake, and hoping the current delegates and leadership will be honest and hard working. Instead, the members get self serving crooks who are boozing up and stealing our money.
If you have a delegate that is siding with Panus and Mistel, then vote them out. Panus and Mistel both must go next election. They have stole enough from us.
Several city shootings in the city this week. They dont even get mentioned in the media. Some of this is due to the media black out that Mayor Browm imposed when he took office.
If for 20 years, the five PBA leaders received $500.00 each month of the year, that would be a total of $600,000. I believe it was longer, but lets say 20 years. Instead of pocketing that money, the PBA leaders could have purchased a parking lot or parking spots for its members who attend court. Those officers who attend court naturally contribute more to the PBA funds because of the way PBA dues are collected. If not a parking lot, they could have purchased a building for the PBA to be housed instead of being at HQ. Now that it is realized that they were syphoning our money into their wallets, they will start talking about moving out of headquarters and stuff like that. They now have the extra money to do so. It is pathetic that we allowed these crooks to steal so much money for so long. If anything, the PBA should pay for any parking ticket we get when attending court.
When you put it that way, that is a lot of money they pocketed. All these years they could have make things nice for us, but instead they were stealing the funds for themselves. We really must get honest, people with integrity to lead us. As it stands now, they swindled millions of dollars from our paychecks. Currently we as PBA members have to give 1.5 % of our income to the PBA, that is to much, especially in light of what we now know the did with that money. To Jim Panus, lower the rate immediately, this in itself may save you. The PbA leadership through there thefts, have proved to us that the PBA does not need that extra money they take from us.

FTO program: It took this dishonest union years to iron out an acceptable program for our FTO's and PPO's. Finally we now have a program!! But, because of the dishonesty by some of the PBA delegates, they again will hold this program hostage for more money than agreed upon. The agreement was clear, OT will be paid to train the FTO's is needed, and while performing in that capacity the FTO receives a higher wage. That wage was agreed on by the PBA and the city... done deal right? No, now the union is telling the FTO's that they are entitled to one hour of overtime every tour that they perform as FTO's. This is just another example of the dishonest, unprofessional type of conduct that we can expect from our union. Now the union through its delegates is threatening to dissuade officers from participating in the FTO program. WTF, you agreed to what you agreed to, now that its in place, your trying to steal an hour a day for every FTO... This is really getting ridiculous, time for a change... vote your delegates out if they are part of this.

The new guys, Kenedy, Gambino and Evans are the ones that alerted the union membership about the thefts. Mistel and Panus did not notify the membership. Instead, they attempted to get the new guys on board with the $500.00 a month theft and were reprimanded and blasted for that conduct. Mistel has enjoyed the $500.00 a month booty since day one, Panus has enjoyed it for about 3 years. For that alone, they must leave their union spots and should exit the police department. -First off, the buzz we are getting down here is that the former PBA President and the rest of the Executive Board were each receiving an additional $500 per month which apparently was not common knowledge to the rest of the PBA membership. Okay, if that's true, were there any reasons given by those accused as to why they claim they were entitled to this additional money? For example, did they claim that this additional $500 payment they were receiving per month was reimbursements for such things as parking, gas, attendance at copper functions, stags, weddings, wakes, funerals, etc?
-If that was their excuse, did any of the former union officers give a valid explanation why this had not been common knowledge up until the $500 monthly payments were brought to light by the new Executive Board members?
-Has the former president or any of the former or current Executive Board members indicated how long they were taking this additional $500 per month stipend? For example, did they indicate they started taking the additional money in X month of Y year because of Z reason(s)?
-In other words, fellas, we here in Florida are getting your sentiments loud and clear here on the Leftyline, but most of us retirees really don't have a clue what the hell is going on up there. And we would be very interested in hearing what the former PBA Executive Board members have to say in their defense. For instance, has Bob Meegan, JJ, Cuds, Randi, Ray, Sean O'B, Morgan, Misztal or Jim Panus been contacted about this issue and had they given a statement in reply to any of the questions we asked above, or is everyone only speaking through lawyers at the moment?

The legislation would also, for the first time in New York City law, make the NYPD accountable for practices such as stop and frisk that have a disproportionate impact on communities of color and other New Yorkers. Finally, it would broaden the communities protected against profiling by including a prohibition on discrimination based on race, religion, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status, housing status, or other characteristics. Similar laws exist in Illinois, W. Virginia & Arkansas. This legislation is also similar to the federal End Racial Profiling Act. •Protecting New Yorkers against unlawful searches (Intro. 799) This bill would end the practice of the NYPD pressuring New Yorkers into consenting to wrongful searches (for example, searches that lead to the disproportionate arrest of black and Latino New Yorkers for possession of minor amounts of marijuana). Police officers would have to explain to New Yorkers that they have the right to refuse a search when there is no warrant or probable cause. The NYPD would have to obtain proof of the consent given. So in 1992, when coppers were making 26k, they approved stipends of 34,800 for the pres and 27,600 for the rest, , plus a 550 for the pres and 500 for the others, listed under "upstate". so pres was getting 41,400, plus 2600 for , PR , so 44,000, plus a 4,000 presidential expense acct , so $48,000.00 for the pres and 33,600 for the others, all from the union dues ? ALBUQUERQUE — A 15-year-old boy charged with killing his parents and three siblings allegedly intended to add to the slaughter by driving to the nearest Walmart and dying in a shootout with police after another round of killings, the Albuquerque Journal reports.
Instead, the newspaper says, the teenager called a friend who talked him into meeting at Calvary Chapel, where his father had been pastor. A church security guard later called 911.
The victims were identified as Greg Griego, 51, who had been a pastor at the Metropolitan Detention Center; his wife, Sarah Griego, 40, who home-schooled their children; Zephania Griego, 9; Jael Griego, 5; and Angelina Griego, 2.
The couple had 10 children, but only the three youngest and the shooter were at their home in rural South Valley, just outside Albuquerque.
Authorities said each victim suffered more than one gunshot wound, and several guns were found at the scene, one of which was a semiautomatic, military-style rifle. Investigators were trying to determine who owned the guns.
The teenager, identified as Nehemiah Griego, has been charged with two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death.
Even though the teenager is a juvenile, the local media and the Associated Press have identified him by name.
"I've never seen a scene quite like this," Bernalillo County Sheriff Dan Houston said Sunday.
The Journal reported Monday that the teen allegedly shot his mother early Saturday while she was sleeping after they had had a minor disagreement Friday. He then allegedly shot his 9-year-old brother, who was sleeping in the same bed, and his two siblings in another room.
He waited several hours for his father to return at 6 a.m., allegedly killing him with multiple shots, the newspaper reported.
At that point, the Journal reported, the teen loaded up a van with an AR-15 rifle and a shotgun with the intention of driving to a Walmart for more killings.
Instead, he heeded a friend's advice and went to the church. He eventually reported the killings to a security guard, who called police after returning to the house with the teenager.
KRQE-TV reported that the suspect was known as a quiet teenager who always wore camouflage gear in walks through the neighborhood.
News 13 said the teen's online dating profile shows him in military fatigues, with a self-description: "I'm a fun loving guy who [likes] to make [people] happy. I might be shy but I'll open up once you get to know me."
Word of the shootings traveled quickly through the law enforcement community, and officials offered their condolences for Greg Griego, a spiritual leader known for his work with firefighters and the 13 years he spent as a volunteer chaplain at the county jail.
"Chaplin Griego was a dedicated professional that passionately served his fellow man and the firefighters of this community," Fire Chief James Breen said in a statement. "His calming spirit and gentle nature will be greatly missed."
Jail Chief Ramon Rustin said Griego was instrumental in the creation of the Metropolitan Detention Center's chaplain program and worked to get inmates integrated back into the community.
Griego is the brother of former state senator Eric Griego.
The Griego family, KOB-TV reported, released the following statement: "Our family is grieving this terrible tragedy. We appreciate the prayers and support we have received and request that the media honor our family's privacy during this difficult time."
The killings came three days after President Obama presented a sweeping gun-control package that marks the most comprehensive effort to tighten gun laws in the USA in nearly two decades. Obama's package was triggered by last month's school shooting in Connecticut, where a gunman with a legally purchased high-powered rifle left 20 young children and six adults dead.

How would gun and ammunition sellers react to President Obama’s proposals to combat gun violence? I decided to find about by asking people who operate out of the so-called “secondary gun market,” where those without federal licenses to distribute weapons ply their trade. About 40 percent of guns reach people via this off-the-books route, including many of the guns that reach young people. I spoke to three gun sellers who work in and around Chicago. I was prepared for defensive reactions, given the 30-plus legislative recommendations and executive actions on the table. Instead, they were skeptical when I read them Obama’s proposals. One summed up the general sentiment: “Not going to change one thing I do, thank the Lord.” That response makes sense when one looks closely at gun markets, which are a bit quirky. The three Chicago brokers I spoke with don’t own gun stores or sell over the Internet. They make their money in the illegal, secondary market in three ways: They sell guns directly; they find customers for suburban gun dealers, who pay them a finders’ fee, and who then sell the gun off the books; and they match sellers with gun sellers in alleyway gun shows. Ninety percent of these sales are handguns, as opposed to assault rifles and shotguns.

McDonald's settles $700,000 suit over Islamic diet in US
DEARBORN, Michigan – McDonald's and one of its franchise owners agreed to pay $700,000 to members of the Muslim community to settle allegations a Detroit-area restaurant falsely advertised its food as being prepared according to Islamic dietary law. Nine days before the deadline, thousands of Californians are defying a ground-breaking state requirement that they register their military-style semiautomatic guns.
Many gun owners are calling their defiance an act of political protest in the tradition of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi. "If civil disobedience was good enough for Dr. King, it's good enough for me," said Mike Wright, a member of Gun Owners React Committee, a private lobbying group.
Like other members of the group, he said he was refusing to register his weapon, a Colt AR-15, the assault weapon that was known as the M-16 during the Vietnam War.
As a one-year registration period draws toward an end on Dec. 31, only about [7,000] weapons of an estimated [300,000] in private hands in the state have been registered. This non-compliance has virtually nullified the first step of a March 1989 law that set the pattern for similar attempts to limit ownership of assault rifles in other states and in Washington.
Restrict ammunition magazines to seven bullets, from the current national standard of 10. Current owners of higher-capacity magazines would have a year to sell them out of state. Someone caught with eight or more bullets in a magazine could face a misdemeanor charge.

We have a very divided union. On one hand, theres the Panus/meegan crew. That group is always looking for ways to get your money and spend it on parties, vacations and give aways. Those delegates of that group are waiting for their turn at the $500.00 a month club. If your delegates favor Panus, you are being robbed and lied to.
On the other hand you have the dues paying members who are hoping for a better shake, and hoping the current delegates and leadership will be honest and hard working. Instead, the members get self serving crooks who are boozing up and stealing our money.
If you have a delegate that is siding with Panus and Mistel, then vote them out. Panus and Mistel both must go next election. They have stole enough from us.
Several city shootings in the city this week. They dont even get mentioned in the media. Some of this is due to the media black out that Mayor Browm imposed when he took office.
There is no justification , other than pure stupidity that you would support Panus. The guy is a clown.
If for 20 years, the five PBA leaders received $500.00 each month of the year, that would be a total of $600,000. I believe it was longer, but lets say 20 years. Instead of pocketing that money, the PBA leaders could have purchased a parking lot or parking spots for its members who attend court. Those officers who attend court naturally contribute more to the PBA funds because of the way PBA dues are collected. If not a parking lot, they could have purchased a building for the PBA to be housed instead of being at HQ. Now that it is realized that they were syphoning our money into their wallets, they will start talking about moving out of headquarters and stuff like that. They now have the extra money to do so. It is pathetic that we allowed these crooks to steal so much money for so long. If anything, the PBA should pay for any parking ticket we get when attending court.
When you put it that way, that is a lot of money they pocketed. All these years they could have make things nice for us, but instead they were stealing the funds for themselves. Hey Buffalo News, you fucking scumbags should do a story about how the Meagan PBA robbed their members for two decades, all while pretending to fight for them. Bill Cusella is the loudest Panus hater at the meetings. Panus has made some big changes to the PBA that Meegan would have never thought of. For over 20 years Bill Cusella was a delegate and Board member and never said a word against Meegan. Now this clown does nothing but disrupts meetings and is dividing the union. Time for Cusella to get the boot to. Mistel should go but Panus is doing a good job and he is doing it in a prudent pace. Yes, get rid of Mistel but get rid of Cusella to. The union: The membership has been taken advantage by unscrupulous elected PBA leaders. This has apparently been an on going trend for some time. We really must get honest, people with integrity to lead us. As it stands now, they swindled millions of dollars from our paychecks. Currently we as PBA members have to give 1.5 % of our income to the PBA, that is to much, especially in light of what we now know the did with that money. To Jim Panus, lower the rate immediately, this in itself may save you. The PbA leadership through there thefts, have proved to us that the PBA does not need that extra money they take from us.

FTO program: It took this dishonest union years to iron out an acceptable program for our FTO's and PPO's. Finally we now have a program!! But, because of the dishonesty by some of the PBA delegates, they again will hold this program hostage for more money than agreed upon. The agreement was clear, OT will be paid to train the FTO's is needed, and while performing in that capacity the FTO receives a higher wage. That wage was agreed on by the PBA and the city... done deal right? No, now the union is telling the FTO's that they are entitled to one hour of overtime every tour that they perform as FTO's. This is just another example of the dishonest, unprofessional type of conduct that we can expect from our union. Now the union through its delegates is threatening to dissuade officers from participating in the FTO program. WTF, you agreed to what you agreed to, now that its in place, your trying to steal an hour a day for every FTO... This is really getting ridiculous, time for a change... vote your delegates out if they are part of this.

1 million formerly legal rifles

-Us retirees here in Florida and all points south only have the Leftyline to get our information about what's going on up in Buffalo, so we were wondering if any of you young fellas could clarify a few things for us old duffers down here.
-First off, the buzz we are getting down here is that the former PBA President and the rest of the Executive Board were each receiving an additional $500 per month which apparently was not common knowledge to the rest of the PBA membership. Okay, if that's true, were there any reasons given by those accused as to why they claim they were entitled to this additional money? For example, did they claim that this additional $500 payment they were receiving per month was reimbursements for such things as parking, gas, attendance at copper functions, stags, weddings, wakes, funerals, etc?
-If that was their excuse, did any of the former union officers give a valid explanation why this had not been common knowledge up until the $500 monthly payments were brought to light by the new Executive Board members?
-Has the former president or any of the former or current Executive Board members indicated how long they were taking this additional $500 per month stipend? For example, did they indicate they started taking the additional money in X month of Y year because of Z reason(s)?
-In other words, fellas, we here in Florida are getting your sentiments loud and clear here on the Leftyline, but most of us retirees really don't have a clue what the hell is going on up there. And we would be very interested in hearing what the former PBA Executive Board members have to say in their defense. For instance, has Bob Meegan, JJ, Cuds, Randi, Ray, Sean O'B, Morgan, Misztal or Jim Panus been contacted about this issue and had they given a statement in reply to any of the questions we asked above, or is everyone only speaking through lawyers at the moment?
-We are all very interested in what the hell is going on up there, as a good number of your union decisions effect us retirees. Therefore, we ask that when you post something about union business or former union leaders you keep us retirees in mind and be a little more thorough and clear with your comments.

Finally, it would broaden the communities protected against profiling by including a prohibition on discrimination based on race, religion, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status, housing status, or other characteristics. Similar laws exist in Illinois, W. Virginia & Arkansas. This legislation is also similar to the federal End Racial Profiling Act.
•Protecting New Yorkers against unlawful searches (Intro. 799)
This bill would end the practice of the NYPD pressuring New Yorkers into consenting to wrongful searches (for example, searches that lead to the disproportionate arrest of black and Latino New Yorkers for possession of minor amounts of marijuana). Police officers would have to explain to New Yorkers that they have the right to refuse a search when there is no warrant or probable cause. The NYPD would have to obtain proof of the consent given. Similar laws exist in Colorado & West Virginia.
•Requiring officers to identify and explain themselves to the public (Intro. 801)
This bill would require that NYPD officers provide their name and rank to the subjects of law enforcement activity, such as New Yorkers being stopped and frisked. The officer would also have to provide the specific reason for the stop, and a business card to the person being stopped that includes information on how to file a complaint. There are exceptions for extenuating circumstances. Similar laws exist in Arkansas, Minnesota and Colorado.

Across America, state lawmakers, governors, attorneys general, sheriffs, and other officials are promising to protect the gun rights of citizens in their jurisdictions in the face of the most aggressive assault on the Second Amendment in generations. Indeed, as the Obama administration’s unconstitutional agenda becomes increasingly transparent — backed by some Democrats and much of the establishment media — resistance to further infringements on the right to keep and bear arms is exploding nationwide.
A good President would demand financial accountability. The buck stops with him. Allowing missing records and no receipts for expenses shows his ineptness, or worse, his complicity. This Union is dead in the water until all the questions are answered.

ALBUQUERQUE — A 15-year-old boy charged with killing his parents and three siblings allegedly intended to add to the slaughter by driving to the nearest Walmart and dying in a shootout with police after another round of killings, the Albuquerque Journal reports.
Instead, the newspaper says, the teenager called a friend who talked him into meeting at Calvary Chapel, where his father had been pastor. A church security guard later called 911.
The victims were identified as Greg Griego, 51, who had been a pastor at the Metropolitan Detention Center; his wife, Sarah Griego, 40, who home-schooled their children; Zephania Griego, 9; Jael Griego, 5; and Angelina Griego, 2.
The couple had 10 children, but only the three youngest and the shooter were at their home in rural South Valley, just outside Albuquerque.
Authorities said each victim suffered more than one gunshot wound, and several guns were found at the scene, one of which was a semiautomatic, military-style rifle. Investigators were trying to determine who owned the guns.
The teenager, identified as Nehemiah Griego, has been charged with two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death.
Even though the teenager is a juvenile, the local media and the Associated Press have identified him by name.
"I've never seen a scene quite like this," Bernalillo County Sheriff Dan Houston said Sunday.
The Journal reported Monday that the teen allegedly shot his mother early Saturday while she was sleeping after they had had a minor disagreement Friday. He then allegedly shot his 9-year-old brother, who was sleeping in the same bed, and his two siblings in another room.
He waited several hours for his father to return at 6 a.m., allegedly killing him with multiple shots, the newspaper reported.
At that point, the Journal reported, the teen loaded up a van with an AR-15 rifle and a shotgun with the intention of driving to a Walmart for more killings.
Instead, he heeded a friend's advice and went to the church. He eventually reported the killings to a security guard, who called police after returning to the house with the teenager.
KRQE-TV reported that the suspect was known as a quiet teenager who always wore camouflage gear in walks through the neighborhood.
News 13 said the teen's online dating profile shows him in military fatigues, with a self-description: "I'm a fun loving guy who [likes] to make [people] happy. I might be shy but I'll open up once you get to know me."
Word of the shootings traveled quickly through the law enforcement community, and officials offered their condolences for Greg Griego, a spiritual leader known for his work with firefighters and the 13 years he spent as a volunteer chaplain at the county jail.
"Chaplin Griego was a dedicated professional that passionately served his fellow man and the firefighters of this community," Fire Chief James Breen said in a statement. "His calming spirit and gentle nature will be greatly missed."
Jail Chief Ramon Rustin said Griego was instrumental in the creation of the Metropolitan Detention Center's chaplain program and worked to get inmates integrated back into the community.
Griego is the brother of former state senator Eric Griego.
The Griego family, KOB-TV reported, released the following statement: "Our family is grieving this terrible tragedy. We appreciate the prayers and support we have received and request that the media honor our family's privacy during this difficult time."
The killings came three days after President Obama presented a sweeping gun-control package that marks the most comprehensive effort to tighten gun laws in the USA in nearly two decades. Obama's package was triggered by last month's school shooting in Connecticut, where a gunman with a legally purchased high-powered rifle left 20 young children and six adults dead.
But now, today, nothing can be done to get that money back, or to hold them accountable

The other day my little son said to me , "Daddy... would you call some traffic people in on overtime, so I can cross the street to play with Jamal."
There was a stipend voted on for the $500.00 per month, but that was only for the president for travels back and forth to Albany and Syracuse, Meegan had a fall out with the PCNY because they wouldn't support him for president of their organization and thus formed a seperate group. The stipend was not for the entire executive board. I was at that meeting!!

How would gun and ammunition sellers react to President Obama’s proposals to combat gun violence? I decided to find about by asking people who operate out of the so-called “secondary gun market,” where those without federal licenses to distribute weapons ply their trade. About 40 percent of guns reach people via this off-the-books route, including many of the guns that reach young people.
I spoke to three gun sellers who work in and around Chicago. I was prepared for defensive reactions, given the 30-plus legislative recommendations and executive actions on the table. Instead, they were skeptical when I read them Obama’s proposals. One summed up the general sentiment: “Not going to change one thing I do, thank the Lord.”
That response makes sense when one looks closely at gun markets, which are a bit quirky. The three Chicago brokers I spoke with don’t own gun stores or sell over the Internet. They make their money in the illegal, secondary market in three ways: They sell guns directly; they find customers for suburban gun dealers, who pay them a finders’ fee, and who then sell the gun off the books; and they match sellers with gun sellers in alleyway gun shows. Ninety percent of these sales are handguns, as opposed to assault rifles and shotguns.

McDonald's settles $700,000 suit over Islamic diet in US
DEARBORN, Michigan – McDonald's and one of its franchise owners agreed to pay $700,000 to members of the Muslim community to settle allegations a Detroit-area restaurant falsely advertised its food as being prepared according to Islamic dietary law.
McDonald's and Finley's Management Co. agreed Friday to the tentative settlement, with that money to be shared by Dearborn Heights resident Ahmed Ahmed, a Detroit health clinic, the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn and lawyers.
Ahmed's attorney, Kassem Dakhlallah, told The Associated Press on Monday that he's "thrilled" with the preliminary deal that's expected to be finalized March 1. McDonald's and Finley's Management deny any liability but say the settlement is in their best interests.
The lawsuit alleged that Ahmed bought a chicken sandwich in September 2011 at a Dearborn McDonald's but found it wasn't halal -- meaning it didn't meet Islamic requirements for preparing food. Islam forbids consumption of pork, and God's name must be invoked before an animal providing meat for consumption is slaughtered.

My hat is off to the voice of experience here. Leave policing our streets to the Police. I dont want some Numb-nuts with a pistol permit playing cop when he see's someone speeding. Thank you to the obviously seasoned veteran officer who said, get off the fucking wall or be arrested. That is the good old, seasoned Cop that I remember growing up and that I need now policing my neighborhood. As for Radio Jocks making threats over the, remember, you reap what you sew.
Could someone please post Tom Bauerle's address, and the type of vehicle he drives. We should be informed of this type of NUT in case he blows a gasket. He has stated many times that he legally carries a hand gun, and that the government isnt taking it from if the laws change. With him spitting out that public statement time and time again, we in Law Enforcement should be aware of his information.

Why is stop and frisk being challenged? If it can save just one life it's worth it, right? It's for the children, how can anyone be against it?
