In a hotel bar in Atlanta two years ago, federal prosecutor Joseph Tripi said he heard something that made his stomach sick.
He was sitting next to Earl Perrin who was bragging to an old high school friend about his job as a Buffalo police officer and how he had recently chased down and arrested a convicted killer.
What happened next is in dispute but, according to Tripi’s testimony, Perrin boasted about taking Thamud Eldridge down a flight of stairs head first.
Perrin also told his friend that his partner stomped on Eldridge when they found out he was not Shawn Jones, the name he initially gave them after his arrest, according to Tripi’s account.
